From October 31 to November 1, 2017, the 6th meeting of the Committee on Port and Sea Cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran.
The Iranian delegation was headed by Mr. Hosrou Sarai, the Director General of the Department for International Treaties and Development of the Market for the Organization of the Ports and Navigation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kazakh side was represented by Mr. Abai Turikpenbaev, President of JSC “NK” Aktau International Sea Trade Port. The meeting was also attended by the manager for commercial and administrative issues of the Aktau port, Martin Voetman.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of increasing cargo turnover between Iran and Kazakhstan, the need for establishing a regular container service between the ports of both countries and improving the channels for the mutual exchange of information, as well as the possibilities of attracting transit cargo from Russia, China to Iran and the Persian Gulf countries , India and back.
Following the meeting in the atmosphere of business mutual understanding, a protocol was signed.
