On June 12-14, an Austrian delegation led by Deputy Director of the Chamber of Economics of Vienna, Alexander Biach, visited the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of studying the international transport route “New Silk Road”.
Representatives of the Vienna Chamber of Economy, Austrian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Gerhard Siller, top management of Austrian railways and the largest Austrian provider Rail Cargo Austria, as well as journalists from leading Austrian media visited the dry port of Khorgos-Eastern Gate SEZ in JSC NK “Aktau International Sea Trade Port”, ports “Kuryk” and “North Terminal”.
Alexander Biakh said at a meeting with the leadership of the port of Aktau, Austria, being one of the largest European manufacturers of a large range of industrial goods, is very interested in using routes that can shorten the route to Europe as much as possible.
Mr. Biakh considers the port of Aktau to be well equipped, ready to work in the new economic conditions and hopes in the future for mutually beneficial fruitful cooperation on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which has become the basis of the New Silk Road.
The port president Abai Turikpenbayev noted with a smile that the portal cranes working in the port were made in Austria. At the end of the meeting, he thanked the guests for their attention and presented Alexander Biach and Gerhard Sayler with memorable gifts – the book Mangistau.
