Container Imports from Turkey

On October 7, 2019, as part of the coordinated work of the countries participating in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM), the first container train was launched by the Istanbul-Almaty link via the port of Aktau.

The train, consisting of 33 forty-foot containers with groupage cargo, travels the distance in 14 days, which is an alternative to sending goods from Turkey by other transport.

To date, a second similar train with Turkish cargo has been formed.

This is an important event, confirming that the TMTM route, being the trade route of the Great Silk Road, provides the shortest import route to the Kazakhstani market.
