The participants of the 11th meeting of the Kazakh-Georgian intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation.

On behalf of Sea port of Aktau, the Chairman of the Board (President) of JSC “Sea port of Aktau” Mr. Turikpenbaev Abay took part in the session of the intergovernmental committee.

Today developing of a transit through Kazakhstan and Georgia is important than ever. Since the beginning of 2022, freight traffic by rail between the two countries has increased by 142% and has a steady upward trend.

In the section of cooperation in transport, the parties also discussed the development of the TITR route and increase of throughput capacity of Aktau, Batumi and Poti ports.

The opening ceremony of the monument to the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev became part of the cultural program of the delegation. The monument, created by a Georgian sculptor, was installed in one of the public gardens in the capital of Georgia.
