On March 03, 2022 there was a meeting between the Aktau port management and the representatives of JSC “ArcelorMittalTemirtau” at Sea port of Aktau.
According to Sergey Dolzhenko, head of the external logistics department of “ArcelorMittal Temirtau” JSC, the company is planning to resume transportation of metal products about 30-50 thousand tons a month (hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled coils, tin in bundles, galvanized sheets) to Egypt and Lebanon through the ports of Aktau and Azerbaijan.
With over 222,000 employees and 60 branches throughout the world, ArcelorMittal is the global leader in steel production. The company has been at the leading position in the major global steel markets such as automotive, construction, household equipment and packaging.
Recall that starting from 2018, sanctions restrictions against Iran interrupted the mutually beneficial partnership between the port of Aktau and the company.
It is important to note that the mutually beneficial cooperation between these companies has been interrupted since 2018 due to the sanctions applied towards Iran.
