On April 13, 2023, as part of a visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the invitation of the Kazakhstan Investment Cooperation Agency (KAIS), a delegation of Shangdong Port Group (SPG) headed by its President Li Fengli visited Aktau Port.

During the meeting, the parties presented their capabilities and long-term development plans, and also outlined the importance of using the existing infrastructure and advantages of the Kazakh and Chinese sides to improve the efficiency of transit traffic along the TITR route.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish friendly relations between Aktau port and Qingdao Port, which is part of the SPG group and is in the world top 5 rating.

By the relevant agreement, the port workers confirmed their intentions to cooperate in the field of building a “green” and “smart” port, personnel training, optimization of operation processes, logistics, exchange of experience and information, as well as interaction in other areas.
