On June 15, through the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium, JSC “KTZ” and the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route”,there was a round table on “Transit and transport cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union: prospects for the development of TITR”.

The event was attended by the deputies of the European Parliament, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Belgium, the European Commissioner for Transport, EU representatives for Central Asia, as well as representatives of railway administrations, ports and logistics operators from Kazakhstan, European countries, China, Turkey and Azerbaijan as well.

During the panel session on global supply chains and routes through Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Executive Board (President) of JSC “Sea port of Aktau” Abai Turikpenbayev made a report on the development project and the measures being taken by Sea port of Aktau to increase its capacity.

Summarizing the results of the round table, the participants unanimously highlighted the priority of the issues of supporting and stimulating the route by removing infrastructure restrictions, re-directing additional cargo flows, IT solutions and end-to-end pricing in view of increased load on the TITR.
