The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the port of Aktau

As part of a working trip to the Mangistau region, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Smailov A.A. visited the port of Aktau, where he got acquainted with the infrastructural capabilities of the maritime logistics hub.

As the Chairman of the Board (President) of JSC “NC “AMTP” Turikpenbaev A.N. noted in his report, in the current realities, the task of the port of Aktau is to create conditions for servicing the increasing cargo flow, including transit.

According to available forecasts, container traffic is expected to double this year compared to last year – up to 50,000 TEUs, and the volume of traffic along the TITR route will grow six times – up to 3.2 million tons.

Taking into account the dynamics of increase in cargo traffic, the maritime operators LLP “NMSC” “Kazmortransflot” and ASCO (Azerbaijan) plan to attract 2 additional vessels within a month to run between the ports of Aktau and Baku (Alyat). Thus, in the near future the route will be served by 5 feeder vessels.

At the same time, in the port of Aktau, the number of simultaneously operating commissions for the arrival and departure of ships has been increased from two to three, and the issue of obtaining permission to conduct bunkering operations in the port roads in the regime of a closed border of a loaded vessel is being considered.

The measures taken will significantly reduce the processing time of ships and will positively affect the operational efficiency of the port.
