On October 19, 2021, the President of the Aktau port Abay Turikpenbayev received the delegation of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by the head Kestutis Yankauskas.

Issues aimed at strengthening cooperation were discussed at the meeting. The European Union has been cooperating with Kazakhstan since the country gained independence and plays an important role in foreign trade relations of the Mangistau region. The total trade turnover between the Mangistau region and the countries of the European Union for 8 months of this year amounted to 1.2 billion US dollars.

During the meeting, the members of the delegation of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan stated that they are interested in the implementation of projects in the field of transport logistics, the development of industrial infrastructure and a green economy.
